Hazlitt Theatre Outdoor Canopy
The Hazlitt Theatre is a prominent landmark in Maidstone town centre and looked to us for a design, print and display solution for their outdoor canopy.
The Hazlitt Theatre have been a client of ours for many years and we have enjoyed working closely together with them on many projects. When they came to us to re-design the canopy, print and install it, we were more than excited to get started on the project.
Liaising with our design team, their Marketing and Development manager Michelle Woodland worked closely with us to come up with a design for not just the canopy front, but the top of the glass, too. We produced several options, taking inspiration from the concept of stained glass, circus tents and finding a way to include the illuminated lights underneath.
During the design process, the idea of printing onto a clear self-adhesive vinyl became the favourite option, as it allowed the lights from underneath to shine through at night, creating a striped silhouette on the floor and walls of the building.
Each section is a bespoke size and so we were careful to make sure everything was cut to size by hand, including the triangular parts, and individually labelled to ensure they were fitted in the correct places.
Our display & installation team took an early 4am morning visit to the theatre, with the van loaded up with all the relevant scaffolding and equipment ready to be installed, finishing just on time, before the morning rush of commuters!
